Upland Square is an outdoor shopping center in West Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (although its mailing address is Pottstown, PA). It is located at the intersection of Route 100 and State Street/Upland Square Drive.

History[]

Upland Square was first proposed in 2007 and began construction in 2008. In June 2009, Bed Bath & Beyond opened as the first store in the center, with Target, Giant Food Stores, Best Buy, LA Fitness, T.J. Maxx, Staples, Petco, Famous Footwear, Five Below, and others following over the next few months. In 2011, Carmike Cinemas opened a 12-screen multiplex on land that was originally planned to be the site of a JCPenney store. In 2016, the center was sold to Paramount Realty, and in 2019, Burlington Coat Factory and Ross Dress for Less were added as new anchors. In November of that year, Best Buy closed its store; the resulting vacancy was filled by Ashley Furniture the next year. In March 2020, A.C. Moore closed as part of the chain's bankruptcy. In 2022, the majority of the center was sold again to Singapore-based real estate investment trust United Hampshire US REIT, with Paramount retaining a small portion. In July 2024, the former Bed Bath & Beyond and A.C. Moore space became Dick's Sporting Goods.
