Background[]

Belk
Triangle Town Center officially opened its doors on August 14, 2002, featuring prominent anchor stores such as Hudson Belk, Sears, Dillard's, and Hecht's. The construction of the mall required the re-routing of existing roads to accommodate its development. Saks Fifth Avenue, the state's first of its kind, was added to the lineup in 2004, and the mall proudly houses a two-level Barnes & Noble, serving as a junior anchor.
A notable incident occurred on October 10, 2018, when a water main broke, prompting the evacuation and early closure of the mall. Following a week-long closure, the mall resumed its operations. However, some stores, including H&M, Kay Jewelers, and Zales Jewelers, closed for several months for renovations. Regrettably, these establishments never reopened due to the challenging circumstances brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. As of 2023, the vacant spaces have been occupied by local businesses.
In a significant announcement on August 6, 2021, it was revealed that Sears would be closing as part of an ongoing decision to transition away from its traditional brick-and-mortar format.
In 2022, the mall was sold to Kohan Retail Investment Group.
In December 4, 2024, the mall was bought by Summit Properties USA.
