The Keg (also known as The Keg Steakhouse and Bar), (formerly known as The Keg 'n Cleaver) is a Canadian steakhouse chain currently operating in both Canada and the United States with a total of over 160 locations, The Keg is currently owned by Recipe Unlimited.
History[]
The Keg opened its first location in 1971 at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the chain's name was originally The Keg 'n Cleaver for the first few years of operation, the chain then began expanding across British Columbia eventually beginning to open locations outside of the province, on February 4, 2014, David Aisenstat, which was the CEO of The Keg at the time, sold 51% of his private holdings at the chain towards Fairfax Financial, by February 2018, Recipe Unlimited, which was known as Cara at the time, bought The Keg for a total of 200 million dollars.
