Southland Mall is a Canadian shopping mall located at Regina, Saskatchewan, the mall has around 75 tenants being anchored by Canadian Tire/Mark's, Sport Chek, Atmosphere and Safeway, Southland Mall also has a Cineplex Entertainment theatre.

History[]

Southland Mall opened on March 19, 1975 with Woolco and Dominion an anchor stores, Cineplex Odeon would also open a movie theater at the mall, around the 1980's, Safeway took over the Dominion space, they bought out other Dominion locations at Western Canada in the past, In 1994, Walmart took over the Woolco space following their buyout which took place around the same year, during the early 2000's, new free-standing retailers were built next to the mall including Chapters. by February 2010, Walmart closed and relocated to 4500 Gordon Rd, Zellers was originally slated to take over the space but was bought out by Target in 2011, Canadian Tire/Mark's took over the former Walmart space in 2013 closing their previous location at 4520 Albert St, Sport Chek and Atmosphere opened at the mall soon after, around late 2017, Cineplex Odeon was replaced with Cineplex Entertainment and then between the years 2020-2021, Indigo Books and Music would take over the Chapters space as Indigo slowly began converting Chapters locations into Indigo Books and Music locations.
