Royalty Crossing (formerly Charlottetown Mall and Towers Mall) is a shopping mall located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada.

History[]

The mall first opened in 1974 as Towers Mall, with Towers as its main anchor; and Central Building Supplies as a free-standing store next to the mall. During the 1980's Famous Players was added as a movie theater attached to the mall.

In 1990, Towers closed after being bought out by the Hudson's Bay Company. The former Towers location was later replaced with Zellers in 1991. The name of the mall was changed to Charlottetown Mall in 1991; since Towers was no longer an active anchor tenant.

Central Building Supplies later closed during the late 1990's. Real Atlantic Superstore later moved in to the free-standing empty space around this time.

The mall added more anchors during the early 2000's, such as: Winners, Sport Chek, Dollarama and Moores. The Famous Players theatres was later rebranded into Empire Theatres, and eventually to Cineplex Entertainment. While Boston Pizza built a location in a free-standing building, right next to the mall by the end of 2012.

Zellers closed its doors on March 14, 2013. The Zellers was later replaced with Target. Target Canada opened on November 13, 2013; which later closed on April 8, 2015. H&M and Ardene took over part of the empty Target space in 2018.

On November 20, 2021: The mall's name was changed from 'Charlottetown Mall' to 'Royalty Crossing.' After being bought out by Killam Apartment REIT, a large-scale renovation happened; expanding the food court, and Winners store space.
