RioCan Centre Burloak is a power centre development in Oakville, Ontario. Its current anchors are The Home Depot and Longo's. Other tenants include Dollarama, Crunch Fitness, and Cineplex Cinemas.

History[]

Construction on RioCan Centre Burlock started in late 2006 on lands previously occupied by fields. Construction was finished in December 2007. Some original tenants include The Home Depot, Longo's, Ardene Outlet, Bulk Barn, Home Outfitters, and SilverCity (opened December 7th, 2007). At the time, the the centres main competitors were Appleby Mall (closed in the early 2010s) and Millcroft Shopping Centre (also owned by RioCan REIT).

In 2014, a new Sandman Hotel was built on the property which includes a Denny's restaurant.

In 2015, SilverCity was rebranded to Cineplex Cinemas as part of the phase out of all Famous Players theatres brands.

In 2018, Home Outfitters permanently closed after the stores parent company, the Hudson's Bay Company, decided to discontinue the chain. Urban Planet later moved into the space. In the same year, Bulk Barn and Sport Chek also closed and were eventually replaced with other non-retail tenants.

In 2020 both Addition Elle and Thyme Maternity closed after both chains were discontinued by their parent company, Reitmans. Around the same time, Mark's also permanently closed and remains vacant.

Today, RioCan Centre Burloak continues to operate. However, in more recent years, RioCan Centre Burlock has suffered with many vacancies adorning the shopping centre.
