The North Hanover Mall in Hanover, Pennsylvania, is a shopping center anchored by Rural King, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Burlington.
History[]
The mall opened in 1967 as an open-air strip with W.T. Grant, Town & Country, Sears, and Food Fair. In 1969 and 1970, it underwent reconstruction, becoming an enclosed shopping mall with The Bon-Ton and JCPenney joining. Kmart replaced Town & Country, which later became Black Rose Antiques. The Bon-Ton moved out in 2006. After Black Rose Antiques left, redevelopment began in 2007. The former Black Rose building was demolished for a Dick's Sporting Goods, and the former Bon-Ton space was cleared for a two-story Boscov's. However, Boscov's did not open, and in 2012, JCPenney moved in. In 2014, Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust sold the North Hanover Mall for $32.3 million to Mason Asset Management.
