New Sudbury Centre is a Canadian shopping mall located at Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, the mall currently has over 100 tenants and is owned by Primaris REIT.
History[]
The mall opened back in 1957 with Sears as the main anchor store while Woolworth's and Loblaws were located on the opposite side of the mall, Woolco opened a location at the mall during the 1960's shutting down the Woolworth's locations across the street, Future Shop would open a store at the mall during the early 1990's, in 1994, Woolco was converted into a Walmart after their buyout. In 2005, Walmart relocated to the other area of the mall demolishing the old location around the same year, during the late 2000's, Future Shop relocated to a free-standing building directly next to the mall before closing that location due to their merge with Best Buy on March 2015. The mall had a few renovating in 2017 renovating the existing food court, Sears closed on January 14, 2018 due to bankruptcy, a few years later, Sport Chek and H&M would open at the former Sears space.
