Millcroft Shopping Centre is an open-air shopping centre in Burlington, Ontario. The current anchors of the Millcroft Centre are Metro, Value Village, and Canadian Tire. Other tenants include Mark's and Shoppers Drug Mart.

History[]

Millcroft Shopping Centre was built in the late 1990s as a new shopping centre for the Millcroft area which was being built up at the time. Before the area was built, there was farmland populating the area.

The shopping centres original anchors were Canadian Tire, Ultra Food & Drug, and Zellers, among over 40 other tenants.

In 2006, a Smartcentres power centre was built not too far away from Millcroft Shopping Centre. This new centre included Walmart and other tenants. However, this didn't effect the mall too much.

In 2008, Ultra Food & Drug was rebranded to Metro after the dissolution of the chain.[1] Metro remains as an anchor today.

On September 17th, 2012, Zellers permanently closed their Millcroft Centre location.[2]The lease for the store was purchased by Target who opened their new location on March 19th, 2013. Around this time, Canadian Tire renovated and expanded their location,

On March 22nd, 2015, just after two years of operation, Target permanently closed after leaving the Canadian market.[3]

At the end of 2016, demolition of the former Target location started. In its place, a gym and Value Village were constructed.

Today, the Millcroft Shopping Centre continues to be a popular shopping destination in the Burlington/Millcroft area.
