Mayfair Shopping Centre is a Canadian shopping centre located at Victoria, British Columbia, the mall is currently anchored by Sport Chek, Indigo Books and Music, H Mart and Hudson's Bay.
History[]
Mayfair Shopping Centre opened on October 16, 1963 as an outdoor strip-mall, before the mall was built, a brickyard sat in the space before being demolished to build the Mayfair Shopping Centre, the strip-mall opened with Woodward's as its only anchor tenant, Mayfair Shopping Centre became an indoor shopping centre by the year 1974, 10 years later, Consumers Distributing was added as an anchor tenant, the mall had major expansion in the year 1985 and 1990, expanding the food court and retail space. In 1993, Woodward's ended up being replaced with Hudson's Bay after Hudson's Bay bought out the Woodward's chain, Toys "R" Us also opened around this time while Consumers Distributing closed its doors due to bankruptcy in 1996, by the year 2017, the mall ended up receiving a massive renovation, opening the anchor tenants Sport Chek and Indigo Books and Music in the process of renovating, Toys "R" Us closed its doors on January 2, 2023, later being replaced with H Mart about a year later.
