LW Stores (formerly Liquidation World) was a Canadian retailer that liquidated merchandise with 97 locations, 94 in Canada and 3 in the United States.
History[]
The company would open their first location at Calgary, Alberta back in October 1986, the chain grew during the early 1990's becoming the largest liquidator in all of Canada also around this time, they began opening locations in the United States, most locations were from bankrupt retailers, most notably Ernst Home Centers locations. By 2007, the company shuttered most of their US locations due to declining sales, by the year 2010, Liquidation World's name would be changed to LW Stores after they were bought out by Big Lots, by the end of 2013, Big Lots announced that LW Stores would be shuttering all of their remaining locations with the final few locations closing by February 2014.
