Downsview Mall was a mall located in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Canada, it first opened in 1973 and was demolished by November 2003.
History[]
Downsview Mall opened in 1973 with its main anchors being The Met, Kmart, Canadian Tire and Sobeys there was also a bowling alley and an IMAX movie theater inside the mall while a Pizza Hut was built next to the mall, The Met closed sometime during the 1980's while an Real Atlantic Superstore was built on the other side of the area, by the early 1990's, Sobeys relocated to a free-standing plaza next to Woolco which was later converted into a Walmart. Later on during the late 1990's, Canadian Tire and IMAX relocated into larger buildings while Kmart and the bowling alley closed permanently, also during this time, Pizza Hut relocated to the plaza and was converted into Royal Bank of Canada. Downsview Mall closed and got demolished in November 2003, The Met store was converted into a Staples just before the mall was demolished. Staples relocated to Bedford Commons by the end of 2012, it was demolished in 2015 along with a brand new plaza that was built 11 years back, Subway and St. Louis Bar & Grill built new locations at the former space.
