Dominion Stores (also known as Dominion) is a Canadian supermarket chain founded in the year 1959 as Ayre's Supermarkets.
History[]
The company was founded in the year 1959 with the name Ayre's Supermarkets, it was later rebranded to Dominion with most of their locations being in St. John's, Newfoundland, in 1987, a new partnership with Atlantic Wholesalers was announced which included the 17 locations in Newfoundland, the chain was bought by Loblaws in the year 1995 where all locations ended up adapting to the Loblaws brand. During the year 2024, Dominion Stores and Atlantic Superstore were both rebranded to adapt to similar logos as Real Canadian Superstore.
