A department store is a type of retail outlet that sells multiple products without a specified line of merchandise. Usually, department stores sell such lines apparel, furniture, electronics, household goods, hardware, jewelry, toys, toiletries, cosmetics, etc. Some stores may contain a service as well, such as an auto repair center, restaurant or beauty salon. They are generally part of large chains which operate multiple stores across a region.
