Country Gardens Mall was a Canadian shopping mall located at New Minas, Nova Scotia, Canada.
History[]
The mall opened on April 1970 with 3 anchors and 1 free-standing anchor, Towers, IGA, BiWay, and free-standing Canadian Tire, 4 years later, County Fair Mall opened on the other side of the street causing competition between the two malls. BiWay closed during the late 1980's, in 1991, Towers closed and was later replaced with Zellers, this location closed 5 years later since they already had an existing location at County Fair Mall. Canadian Tire relocated next to County Fair Mall by 1997, in 1999, IGA closed its doors permanently, soon after Country Gardens Mall ended up closing with their last anchor Sears closed its doors permanently. The former Canadian Tire was converted into a Staples by the end of 1999, the mall was demolished by the year 2000, where a brand new Walmart, Mark's and Sport Chek were built in its place, as of today, those stores still remain open forming the New Minas SmartCentres.
