The Corbett Centre is an open-air shopping centre in Fredericton, New Brunswick. It is on the outskirts of the city, and is in a major shopping district. Directly across the street from the Corbett Centre is the Regent Mall. Uptown Centre is also nearby. The property is currently anchored by Costco and The Home Depot, among many other big box retailers and restaurants.
History[]
The first section of the Corbett Centre opened in 2008. The first tenant to open was The Home Depot, followed by Petcetera, Michaels, Winners (which moved from a plaza nearby) and Dollarama. The first restaurant to open was East Side Mario's. The opening of the Corbett Centre brought lots of controversy, as the shopping centre was built on a wetland.
By the end of 2009, a new part of the shopping centre opened which included several smaller tenants such as H&R Block.
In 2010, construction started on a new Costco, which had an opening date of August 19th, 2011. This Costco also included a gas bar.
In 2013, a new section was built which included Bed Bath & Beyond, Bouclair Home, The Gap Factory Outlet, and Carter's. A new St. Hubert restaurant was also built.
In 2016, another new section was built. This section included HomeSense, Hallmark, and NB Liquor.
In April 2023, Bed Bath & Beyond closed after they completely ended their Canadian operations. In summer of 2024, it was announced that a No Frills would be moving into the space.
