Cadillac Fairview is a Toronto based realty company that owns properties in North and South America, Europe, and Asia. They currently own over 70 properties across the world, with over half of them being in Canada.
History[]
Cadillac Fairview was founded in 1974 when Cadillac Developments and Fairview Corp merged together to create one company. Originally, they owned a plethora of properties; including enclosed malls, shopping centres, apartments, condos, and office towers.
In March of 2000, Cadillac Fairview was purchased by the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. They continue to wholly own Cadillac Fairview today.
In 2006, Cadillac Fairview entered the Brazil market by purchasing 46% of a Brazilian realty company.
In 2014, Cadillac Fairview bought multiple former Sears Canada properties, most were converted to Nordstrom. After Nordstrom left the Canadian market in 2023, these properties were vacated and most are still vacant.
A year later, Cadillac Fairview rebranded all of their shopping centres to have "CF" in front of the malls name, the centres logos were also changed to all use the same font and design.
In 2022, Cadillac Fairview entered the United Kingdom market by partially purchasing Stanhope PLC.
