History[]

The Pacific Centre mall opened in 1971, it had one anchor store, Eaton's. However, this wasn't a usual Eaton's store, it was a whopping eight story department store. This mall acted like the Eaton Centre for western Canada, attracting many customers.

This mall became the largest indoor shopping centre in downtown Vancouver, they also built skyways to connect the mall to the Vancouver Centre Mall and to the Hudson's Bay department store nearby.

In 1975, the mall added Holt Renfrew as their second anchor tenant.

In 2002, the Eaton's store closed and was rebranded to a Sears Canada.

In 2007, a new Holt Renfrew was built, replacing the north wing of the mall.

In 2009 a 578,000 sq ft expansion to the mall opened, this opened in conjunction with the Canada Line, which was a SkyTrain public transportation project that ran near the mall.

In 2012, Sears Canada closed its location at the mall, leaving the space empty for a few years. In 2015, a Nordstrom opened in the space.

In 2023, Nordstrom exited the Canadian market, as of 2024, the space remains vacant.
