Brantford Mall was originally Brantford Plaza when it opened in 1962, anchored by Woolco. It was enclosed and a movie theatre was added in 1972 to compete with Lynden Park Mall which was planned to open a few years later, in 1974. The Right House moved in in 1976. Woolco was replaced with Walmart in 1994. BiWay moved out around 1995 to the Food Basics plaza and The Right House, Zehrs, BiWay, and stores in the south hallway were demolished in 1995-96. A larger Zehrs store was built in the same location. Walmart moved out of the mall and into a new building in the same parking lot in 2003. Woolco was demolished. Brantford Mall was demolished in 2008 and the movie theatre moved to a new Galaxy Cinemas in the mall parking lot. East Side Mario's also moved to a new building at the same time.
