Bloomingdale Court is a large shopping center in Bloomingdale, Illinois. It is one of two shopping centers in the city, the other one being Stratford Square Mall. It consists of Walmart, Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Five Below, Ross Dress for Less, Joann Fabrics and other stores.

History[]

1980s and 1990s[]

Bloomingdale Court opened in 1986. On December 15, 1989, Picture Studio opened to the public. In 1990, Chili's opened in front of the shopping center. In 1991, Walmart opened as part of an expansion. Applebee's opened in 1992. Three years later, Lonestar Steakhouse opened. Lonestar closed in 2008 and was replaced by Anyway’s American Grill. In 1996, Oberweis Dairy opened its doors for the first time.

2000s and early 2020s[]

Dick's Sporting Goods opened to customers in 2006. In 2009, Linens N Things and Circuit City closed all locations. Circuit City was replaced by Hhgregg in 2011. Also in 2011, Ross Dress for Less opened to the public. Fox and Hound closed in 2014. Chick-fil-A opened in the former Applebee’s in the summer of 2016. Hhgregg closed in 2017 as the company went bankrupt. Also in 2017, the Verizon store moved within the shopping center from a location next to Carter’s (now occupied by La Michocana) into a location at the other end of the mall near Panera Bread. The former Hhgregg space currently serves as a Spirit Halloween every season. In 2020 OfficeMax closed to the public. In 2021, T.J. Maxx/HomeGoods moved out into the nearby Stratford Crossing. In January 2024, Macy's annouced it would open a small-format 35,000 square foot store, replacing the T.J. Maxx/HomeGoods store
