Bayers Lake Business Park is a buisness park located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
History[]
The area was first developed during the late 1980's and the first stores opened during the early 1990's, stores such as Price Club, Kmart, Cleve's Source For Sports, Kent Building Supplies, Reitman's and a few other stores, many restaurants were also opened like Tim Hortons, Dairy Queen and Harvey's, a brand new Walmart was opened at the plaza in 1996 along with Payless Shoe Source, Winners, Staples and Future Shop. By 1998, Kmart was converted into a Zellers after all of their Canadian locations were bought by Hudson's Bay. Price Club was converted into a Costco sometime during the early 2000's, the plaza expanded even further adding Home Outfitters, 17 screen Empire Theatres with IMAX, Boston Pizza, Sears Home, Atlantic Superstore, Linens N Things and HomeSense, a brand new McDonald's was also built directly next to one of the plazas. By 2005, Michaels, Old Navy and The Brick opened at a brand new plaza next to Linens N Things and HomeSense, Linens N Things later closed during March 2009 and was later converted into Best Buy. Reitman's relocated during the year 2010, the old space was replaced with Bouclair Home, by the year 2013, Empire Theatres was converted to Cineplex Cinemas after all of their Atlantic Canada locations were bought by Cineplex Entertainment. During the year 2014, the Cineplex Cinemas was renamed as the Scotiabank Theatre. Zellers was also converted into a Target in 2013, but closed just 2 years later after they left the Canadian market, the space was later converted into a Canadian Tire. Sears Home closed and a brand new The Brick store opened in its place by 2016, Bed Bath & Beyond took over the former Future Shop by October 2017. the store would later close by the year 2023 where it was later converted into a Toys "R" Us.
