I heard yesterday that Canadian Tire was looking to buy the Hudson Bay Company and its brands for $30 million, with plans to integrate HBC brands such as Stripes and Zellers into their CT, Mark's and SportChek stores. Nothing can be said about whether or not CT plans to revive the Zellers discount store chain, though.
What's on your mind?

So, I heard a couple days ago that Canadian Tire was in consideration of bidding on Hudson's Bay's assets, including Zellers. Personally, I believe that if Zellers gets sold to Canadian Tire, then they would revive the brand as the discount department store chain it once was, serving as CT's main discount store branch. That way, Walmart might just have a competitor once more.
What do you think? Should Zellers be sold to CT or not? Let me know.

This is a Canadian Sears location in Burnaby, BC in 2017 (This store is now demolished) But here is the interesting thing. As you can sorta see, the store is using the 1990s/2000s logo on the building, which is completely normal. But look at the banner in the middle of the picture: Is that the American Sears logo that was never used in Canada??? This is very strange to see! I assume it's because this banner was made by the mall to advertise that they're still open, and they ended up using the wrong logo by mistake.
Anyways, can you find any more examples of companies using the wrong logo?(For example: Kmart used the Australian logo in the USA a few times)
The Dollarama website says that the first store in Ontario opened in 1994, but doesn't say where. I tend to go to Dollarama whenever I go with my mom to Renfrew or Pembroke, so I'm just curious as to where the first store in Ontario was. Can someone help?
I've recently created two pages for West End Plaza in Pembroke, Ontario and Galeries Aylmer in Aylmer, Quebec. I need more information about the histories about both malls in order to expand them.
I would also like more information on the Arnprior Shopping Center in Arnprior, Ontario and the former North Renfrew Mall in Renfrew, Ontario, in order for me to create pages for them, which I will. If anyone had more info on the histories of these malls, please tell me! I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
There is an open-air shopping plaza at 900 Greenbank Road in the neighborhood of Nepean in Ottawa, Ontario. It contains stores such as Food Basics and Rexall. Google Maps Street view goes as far as 2009, but if you go back further than that on Google Earth or geoOttawa, you'll see that it looked to be an enclosed shopping center. Anybody know more information on what this mall used to be called and what stores it had?
You're all familiar with the Pembroke Mall in Virginia Beach, but did you know that there is a mall of the same name in the Canadian city of Pembroke, Ontario? The mall is anchored by Mark's, Staples, Rexall, and Food Basics, with Rossy and Dollarama serving as major tenants. The mall is in pretty good shape, but a lot of the stores are closed, thus putting the mall in a dying state.
While I already wrote a wiki page for the mall and jotted down a lot of photos of the tenants, I was wondering if we could look for more photos of the now-closed tenants, such as Nutrition House and CD Plus. If anybody finds any more photos of the Canadian Pembroke Mall from the past, please let me know!
Since Hudson's Bay announced a few days ago that they would be closing all locations (except for 6 that might stay opened) I was thinking about what could happen to the almost 80 shopping malls across Canada which will lose one of their main anchors.
One shopping mall I thought of quickly is the Woodbine Mall in Rexdale, Ontario. Hudson's Bay is its final anchor tenant, as Zellers and Sears are now closed. Will that mall manage to get back on its feet, or will it go the way of the now closed Rexdale Mall a few blocks away?
Anyways, my question is: can you think of any other malls that are going to be effected a lot by losing Hudson's Bay as an anchor?
